The American mezzo-soprano, Mary Fetterman, obtained her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from Westminster Choir College (2018-2022). She also studied at Lyric Opera Studio Weimar. She was also a former singer with the Curtis Institute’s Mentor Network, Westminster Choir College’s CoOPERAtive program, the Lyric Opera Studio in Weimar, Germany, and Lindsey Christiansen Art Song Festival at Westminster Choir College.
Mary Fetterman currently studies for her Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance and Lieterature at Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester (since August 2022; expected graduation: 2024), studying with Dr. Jonathan Retzlaff. At Eastman so far, she has sung Alto in J.S. Bach's Cantata Alles nur nach Gottes Willen, BWV 72 with the Eastman School of Music: Bach Cantata Series (October 2022); as a soloist in Johannes Brahms's Ein Deutsches Requiem with the Eastman-Rochester Chorus and Eastman School Symphony Orchestra conducted by William Weinert (November 2022); Henry Purcell's The Fairy Queen with Eastman's Collegium Ensemble directed by Paul O'Dette & Christel Thielmann (December 2022); and the role of Bradamante in Eastman Opera Theater's production of George Frideric Handel's Alcina conducted by Timothy Long (January-February 2023). Her notable roles include La Fée in Cendrillon, Despina in W.A. Mozart's Così fan tutte, Zweite Dame and Knabe in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, Hänsel in Engelbert Humperdinck's Hänsel und Gretel, as well as opera scenes portraying Gretel from Hänsel und Gretel, Alyce from Glory Denied, Nanetta from Falstaff, and the Crow from Hans Krása’s Brundibár. With the Berks Opera Company, she was a chorus member and soloist in the world premiere of Chris Heslop’s These Valleys and Mountains (July 2022), La Cenerentola, Otello, and Faust. |
