The French-Sicilian soprano, Muriel Ferraro, initially studied the violin in Grenoble. A graduate in business law and applied foreign languages, she then devoted himself to opera singing studied with lorence Guignolet and Leontina Vaduva and participated in master-classes with Mirella Freni.
Muriel Ferraro's areas of musical interests range from early music to musical theater through opera and contemporary music. Recently, she was heard in Wesendonck Lieder at the Palais Beauharnais accompanied by pianist Alfonso Cemin; Marie in Alban Berg's Wozzeck, at Fondation Royaumont, in July 2012 staged by André Engel; the title role in Suor Angelica; in extracts of the role of Brünnhilde for the resumption of Nietzsche in Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen at the Théâtre de l'Athénée, staged by by Alain Bézu with Orchestre Lamoureux conducted by Dominique Debart; the title role in L'Egisto by Mazzocchi and Marazzoli (1648) staged Jean-Denis Monory with Les Paladins conducted by Jérôme Corréas. Furthermore she performed the roles of Nedda in I Pagliacci, Giorgetta in Il Tabarro and Ciesca in Gianni Schicchi and Métella in Offenbach's La Vie Parisienne with Collectif Lyrique; Mazet in La Colombe by Charles Gounod at the Abbaye aux Dames; Agathe in Les Enfants terribles by Philip Glass, staged by P. Desveaux; Giovanna in Verdi's Rigoletto conducted by Mélanie Thiébaut; Dulcinée in Don Quichotte by Massenet with Compagnie Etoile du Jour; Baronne Aspasia in La Pietra del Paragone by Rossini with La Clef des Chants; La Reine des Elfes in Der Rose Pilgerfahrt by Robert Schumann at the Folle Journée de Nantes.
In concert Muriel Ferraro could be heard in Knoxville: Summer of 1915 by Samuel Barber with the Ensemble Orchestral de Paris. And in the field of contemporary music in Métissage, world premiere with compamies Proxima Centauri and ECM in Bordeaux and Montréal. She played in Ma, a new show for the young public of the Compagnie Eclats, around Canti del Capricorno by Giacinto Scelsi, at the Amphithéâtre de l’Opéra Bastille. She participated in the creation by de Nicolas Frize Les Marmottes. Other projects she supported includ: Les Lessiveuses, an opera by Thierry Machuel creation with Ensemble 2E2M, staged by Christian Gangneron, Les Méfaits du tabac by Chekhov, staged by Denis Podalydès at Bouffes du Nord and the role of Vénus in Tannhauser at the Opéra de Clermont-Ferrand in November 2013. Muriel Ferraro teaches vocal technique in two choirs in the Paris region: Chœur de Malestroit and Ensemble Vocal Folia. In 2014 she founded with Réjean Baldovino the investigations office Sororité Baldovino. This office aims the search for the why and how of things, particularly in terms of musical and theatrical performance. Sororité Baldovino teamed up with Brice Sailly and Jane Piot of 'Onesta Dissimulazione to create a theatrical entertainment, musical and transgender with the harpsichord.
