The Spanish soprano, choral conductor and music teacher, Glòria Fernàndez Blanco, studied singing at the Conservatories of Tarragona and Vila-seca with Mercè Obiols and Charo García, finishing the middle degree with honorable mention. She obtained her Bachelor of Music degree in Choral Conducting at Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya in Barcelona (ESMUC) with Pierre Cao and Johan Duijck.
Glòria Fernàndez worked as a lecturer with the pedagogical-musical method Jaques-Dalcroze at the Institut Joan Llongueres in Barcelona. Currently she is a member of Arsys Bourgogne (Director: Pierre Cao), and La Capella Reial de Catalunya (Director: Jordi Savall). She has directed choirs such as Els Rossinyols de Tarragona, Geriona de Girona, Cor Aura de l’Escola de Música del Palau and Mos Cantars de Tarragona. She is currently director of Cor Novaura. She has worked on educational projects of the Escola Coral de l’Orfeó Català to promote choral singing in Mumbai (summer of 2010), in Cameroon (September 2011) and currently in the Clavé XXI social project (since 2011). Since September 2007, she has been Director of the Cor Mitjans de l'Orfeó Català. |
