The American bass-baritone, William Felber, studied at the University of Southern California.
William Felber was for many years a member of the Roger Wagner Chorale and tourd with them the USA. In December 1961, he sang as a soloist Messiah by George Frideric Handel with the Los Angeles City College A Cappella-Concert Choir at the Palm Springs Community Church. In 1962 he recorded together with other soloists (Gordon MacRae, Dorothy Kirsten, Earle Wilkie, Richard Robinson) and the Roger Wagner Chorale & Orchestra conducted by Van Alexander, the tracks "'The Desert Song': Then You Will Know", "'The Desert Song' (Finale)", "'The Student Prince': Finale" and "'The Student Prince': Arrival At eidelberg/Heidelberg Fair" in Los Angeles, California (issued by Capitol Records). In 1965, he appeared at the Carmel Bach Festival under the direction Sandor Salgo performing J.S. Bach's Matthäus-Passion (BWV 244) and several cantatas. In August 1965, he sang Puccini's opera Madama Butterfly at Redlands Bowl. In December 1970, he performed G.F. Handel Mesisah at Glendale Adventist Church, California with the Robert Herr Chorale conducted by Robert Herr. In July 1979, he particpated as a solioist with the Roger Wagner Chorale in 12-nation concert tour of South America, perfrming Messiah. |
