The German soprano, Claire Fassbender(-Luz), had her first musical training in Cologne, Germany. After that, she studied singing at the Italian Belcanto School in Milan, Italy with Professor Luigi Scolari. She studied dramatic coloratura, opera and oratories.
As a professional singer, Claire Fassbender(-Luz) had engagements in Stuttgart, Munich, Saarbrücken, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Mainz, Mannheim, Karlsruhe, Hilversum, Paris, Strassbourg, Hamburg, Heidelberg, and Tübingen. Her great success was with W.A. Mozart concert arias, as well as with L.v. Beethoven's Symphony No. 9. She also had guest performances as Queen of the Night in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte. In addition she appeared in Lieder recitals and performances on the radio. In the early 1960's she also performed at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City.
In 1951-1952, Claire Fassbender(-Luz) recorded in Stuttgart several J.S. Bach's Cantatas together with Bach-Orchester Stuttgart and the conductor Hans Grischkat. These recordings were made for the American market. |
