The American soprano and vocal pedagogue, Christine Glick-Fairfield, obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music with a concentration in voice from Eastern Mennonite University (1993-1997); and her Masters of Music degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from Ohio University's School of Music (1997-1999), where she studied under the late Dr. Ira Zook. he continued her postgraduate vocal studies with Sunny Joy Langton of Northwestern University, Dawn Spaetti, Timothy Noble (Indiana University Jacobs School of Music), Christine Schadeberg, Stellario Faggone (Munich), Andres Morena Garcia (Berlin), and Byron Jones. She has participated in master-classes with Benton Hess and Daniel Lichti.
Christine Glick-Fairfield has performed extensively as a chorus member and soloist with a variety of groups including the Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival, the Operafestival di Roma, the Rockefeller Chapel Choir of Chicago University, Canticum Novum of New York City, Louisville Bach Society, Schola Cantorum of Waynesboro, Virginia, the Staunton Choral Society, the Bloomington Chamber Singers, Choral Masterworks in Woodstock, and Shenandoah Valley Choral Society, among others. She appears regularly as a soloist with the Rockbridge Choral Society in Lexington, Virginia. She made her European debut singing Marcelina in W.A. Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro with The Saluzzo Opera Academy in 2021 followed by the role of Rosalinde in Johann Strauss' Die Fledermaus by with the Lyric Opera Studio Weimar in 2022. Fluent in German, she excels at performing Lieder as well as opera and choral masterworks.
As an educator, Christine Glick-Fairfield has been Adjunct instructor of voice at Bridgewater College (August 2009-November 2016); Office Manager at Eastern Mennonite School in Harrisonburg, Virginia (February 2015-July 2022); Adjunct Instructor at Washington and Lee University (since July 2022). She has also taught voice at Bridgewater College and Ohio Valley College as well as maintaining a private studio - voice and piano (since September 2009). She is Executive Director of The Oratorio Society of Virginia (since August 2022). She now resides in Staunton, Virginia with her husband and four daughters. |
