The Scottish lyric soprano and music teacher, Claire Evans, obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in General Studies from the University of Glasgow (1998-2001); her Bachelor of Music in Voice from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (2002-2006; Undergraduate degree in singing performance with a dissertation in early years music education; Prizes won for analysis and Scots song; Participated in a Ravel opera, chamber choir and Carlisle Choral Festival as guest soloist); and her Professional graduate diploma of education from the University of Strathclyde (2006-2007; Professional graduate diploma of education, Primary).
Claire Evans has been active as a self employed singing teacher and singer since July 2007. She specialises in choral music, large scale or chamber group. She has sung with professional groups Dieci, Ludus Baroque and Dunedin Consort (Director: John Butt). She also appears as a solo singer and has previous engagements with Garleton Singers, Kilmarnock and District Choral Union, Strathendrick Singers and Merchant Voices, singing music including W.A. Mozart's Requiem, John Rutter's Magnificat and Gabriel Fauré's Requiem. She also works as vocal instructor of National Youth Choir of Scotland since August 2005. She currently lives in Dunblane, Scotland, UK. |
