Lisette Emmink (Soprano)

Born: From Boskoop, the Netherlands

The Dutch soprano, Lisette Emmink, studied at the Koninklijk Conservatorium (Royal Conservatory) in The Hague where she obtained her degree in performance with honours. She then took master-classes with Elly Ameling, Robert Holl, Dorothy Dorow and Gérard Souzay.

In concert, Lisette Emmink places much emphasis on performing oratorio works. She is a very popular soloist and has sung in nearly all major concert halls and under many conductors. She has extended her collaboration on radio recordings of works by Mozart (the first soprano solo in Davide Penitente with the Netherlands Radio Choir), Bach cantatas and music of modern composer George Crumb to name but a few.

Lisette Emmink also sang in the Dutch premiere of Voices of Light by Richard Einhorn and in the English premiere of Cry of the Earth by Tony Biggin at the Royal Festival Hall in London. Moreover, she sang in Paris, Tours (festival), Vienna, Bonn, and Antwerp. She has also made a number of concert trips to South Africa, Canada and the USA. Besides oratorios and songs, her repertoire also consists of opera, operetta and musical numbers.
