Hartmut Elbert (Bass)

Born: 1960 - Wiesbaden, Germany

The German bass, Hartmut Elbert, studied at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich.

Hartmut Elbert was active in the recording studio and opera house even as a student. In 1989 he was awarded the Premio Florestan in Venice. He has performed widely at home and abroad, particular in oratorio and in Lieder recitals which have taken him as far afield as the USA, Canada and Australia.

Among his pupils: Micha Matthäus (Bass-Baritone), Manuel Ried (Tenor).
