The Swedish soprano and music teacher, Helena Eklund Stigsdotter, studied at Musikgymnasiet in Härnösand (Class of 1979). She obtained her diploma as singing teacher from the Musikhögskolan in Piteå (Piteå University College of Music) (1981-1985). She also studied in Holland and had Advanced Studies in Music Performance at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles (1989-1991).
Helena Eklund Stigsdotter was Children's Music Supervisor at Råsunda Församling (1999-2003). She is a teacher of singing with a classical orientation at the Lilla Akademiens Musikgymnasium and Pre-College in Stockholm since September 2003. She has also taught at Sundsgårdens Folkhögskola in Helsingborg and at the Mälardalens Högskolas Kammarmusiklinje. Since September 2011, she is Distributor and Business Developer at Health and Business by Stigsdotter in Täby. She helps other men and women on their own terms start up their own activities in the health industry.
Helena Eklund Stigsdotter was active as a freelance soprano singer from 1992 to 2003. As a soloist, she was mostly engaged in church musical works such as oratorios, passions and more, and as a choir she has worked with the Swedish Radio Choir, Eric Ericson Chamber Choir, Eric Westbergs Vokalensemble and Svenska Vokalharmonin. She married the conductor and organist Bengt Eklund in 2011, and currently lives in Täby, Sweden. |
