The German soprano, Susan Eitrich, studied Baroque singing with Richard Wistreich at the Institut für Alte
Musik der Musikhochschule Trossingen. Her diploma was followed by an artistic graduate; she graduated with honours (1994-2001). In addition, she attended numerous master-classes, including historical drama with Margit Legler in 2001/2002 in Vienna, singing courses at Richard Levitt in Basel, Emma Kirkby in 1998 in London, and Jill Feldman (Italy) in 1999/2001 in Jerusalm.
In 1996, Susan Eitrich co-founded of the vocal ensemble Peñalosa, with whom she won in 2001 1st prize in a singing competition in Gorizia (Italy) and in 2006 2nd Prize in Tolosa (Spain). Susan Eitrich has an extensive concert career both at home and abroad. She has performed already Sette Voci by Peter Kooy, with Capella Caesarea, with Les Escapades, Gli Scarlattisti (since 2003) and as a member of the Soloists of the Collegium Vocale Gent with Philippe Herreweghe (2007 Europe tour, including Bolzano, Innsbruck, Munich, Paris, Ghent). Her special interest is the music of the 17th Century, and her repertoire ranges from the Renaissance to the present and includes oratorios, cantatas, chamber music in historical performance practice and Lieder recitals. Various CD recordings for Cornetto and Organum Classics, several of which were produced in collaboration with the SWR, as well as some live recordings document her work. |
