The German soprano, Trude Eipperle, studied singing at the Musikhochschule in her native Stuttgart
Trude Eipperle was engaged in 1928 as a volunteer at the Stuttgart State Opera. In 19292 or 19301 she started her real career on stage at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden. She was engaged at the Stadttheater of Nürnberg (1930-1934 and again 1935-1937) and the Theater of Braunschweig (Brunswick) (1934-19352 or 19371) In 1937 she came to the Staatsoper of Stuttgart, where she performed during the next three seasons. Since 1938, she also belonged to the Staatsoper of Munich, where she remained until 1944. From 1945 to 1951 she was first soprano at the Opera of Cologne, since 1951 she was a member of the Staatsoper of Stuttgart.
Trude Eipperle sang at the Salzburg Festival in 1942 as Zdenka in Arabella by Richard Strauss, and at the Festival of Bayreuth in 1952 as Eva in Die Meistersinger. In 1953 she was heard at the Monte Carlo Opera as Agathe in Der Freischütz; guest performances at Milan’s La Scala (1938 as Freia in Das Rheingold), at the Teatro Liceo Barcelona, the Teatro San Carlos in Lisbon and the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels, at the Vienna State Opera (1949 as Mimi in La Boheme and as Eva in Die Meistersinger), in London (as Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, and as Eva) and Paris (in 1951 as Donna Anna in Don Giovanni with the Ensemble of the Opera of Cologne). She appeared in 1948 at the Opera House in Cologne, with the premiere of the opera Die Verkündigung by Walter Braunfels. In 1965 she left the stage in Stuttgart, and was named an honorary member of the house, and later lived in Aalen in Württemberg.
Her major roles included Elsa in Lohengrin, Elisabeth in Tannhäuser, Marschallin in Rosenkavalier, Arabella in in Richard Strauss's opera of the same name, Pamina in Zauberflöte, Countess Almaviva in Marriage of Figaro, Agathe in Freischütz, Euryanthe in the eponymous opera by Weber, Elisabetta in Verdi’s Don Carlos, Kaiserin in Frau ohne Schatten by R. Strauss, and Eva in Die Meistersinger. She was also admired in Italian roles as Desdemona in Othello by Verdi, Mimi in La Bohème, and Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly. She was also a successful concert and oratorio soprano.
