The American mezzo-soprano, Angelica Eclar, atusied music at Pacific Union College (1989- 1991). She has studied with Wendy Kallen, Patricia Edwards, Lily Pan Diehl, Kimo Smith, and Donald Thurber. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from La Sierra University in Riverside, California (1993-1995).
Angelica Eclar is a musical chameleon. A gifted vocalist and accompanist in the classical, pop, Broadway and gospel genres, she is also a highly respected teacher, conductor and church musician. She taught classroom, choral and handbell music for thirteen years and has maintained a private music studio for over eighteen years. She currently conducts the Young Musicians of San Diego and resides in San Diego, California.
Angelica Eclar has been Choral Director at Monterey Bay Academy (August 1998-June 2003); Co-director and co-founder of Modern Glee Club of San Diego (February 2009-October 2011); Soprano Section Leader and ReSound Praise Leader at St. Peter's Episcopal Church of Del Mar (September 2010-June 2013); General Partner and Music Coordinator of San Diego Wedding Singers (since April 2009); Music Department Chair at Escondido Adventist Academy (since September 2003); Owner of Full Measure (since September 2013).
Angelica Eclar’s experience as a performer is equally as broad. One of the founding members and songwriters of the Christian group Promise, she is a veteran of Ocean Park Chamber Singers, Full Measure Carolers, Pacific Camerata, and Mosaic. She performs with Bach Collegium San Diego (Director: Ruben Valenzuela) and sacra/profana and is co-founder of Modern Songtales, a musical duo that brings modern art music to new audiences. |
