The German baritone, Christian Eberl, received first piano and trumpet training. Following the state exam for music education, he studied at the Musikhochschule München composition and singing. Hius teachers were Wolfgang Brendel and Rita Hirner-Lill. He received important impulses in the Lieder area from Helmut Deutsch, Christian Gerhaher and Rudi Spring. He also attended master-classes with Rudolf Piernay, Alessandro Corbelli, Louis Langrée, András Schiff and Wolfram Rieger.
Christian Eberl performed various roles in opera pruductions of Opernproduktionen der Musikhochschule München. At the Prinzregententheater München he sang in operas by Henze, Reinhard Keiser, Gluck, Puccini and Debussy. Most recently, he was heard there as a Count Almaviva in W.A. Mozart's Figaro. In 2012 he made his debut at the Dresdner Semperoper in Henze's We Come To The River.
In oratorio and Lieder Christian Eberl appears with a wide repertoire in renowned concert halls. He has performed with several orchestras in the German-speaking world, including the Münchener Kammerorchester, Bayerischer Rundfunk Symphonieorchester and Hamburger Camerata.
In 2006 Christian Eberl won scholarships from the Richard-Wagner-Stiftung München and Yehudi Menuhin Foundation since 2007 by "LiveMusicNow". He is prize-winner in several competitions in Italy and Germany, most recently the Mozartpreis 2009 of Mozartgesellschaft Wiesbaden. At the Festival in Aix-en-Provence 2011, he was invited to join the Academie europeenne de musique. As a prize-winner of the HSBC-Bank he was selectred for various concert and recital tours.
Christian Eberl lives in Munich, where he holds teaching post at the the Hochschule für Musik und Theater since 2011. |
