The American lyric soprano and voice teacher, Sarah Dunnevant, received her Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) (2010-2015), where she studied with H. Stephen Smith.
Since May 2015, Sarah Dunnevant has been self-employed soprano in the Nasville area. She performed with local ensembles such as Portara Ensemble, Nashville Opera, and Nashville Symphony Chorus. In 2019, she could be found touring with the Nashville Opera’s educational outreach program of Abrazo de Oso!, a youth opera by Anna Young. She premiered some new works by Nashville area composers for local classical radio in 2020 and the Nashville Composer Collective in 2021. She also sings as a section leader at West End United Church in Nashville (since September 2019), where she enjoys singing sacred works large and small. She is also Marketing and Communications Coordinator at Vocal Arts Nashville (January 2019-December 2023; Director: Matthew Phelps), of which she is a member. She has sung Nun in Puccini's Tosca at Nashville Opera (Fall 2017), Polly the Panda (Sub) in Abrazo de Oso at Nashville Opera Educational Outreach (Spring 2019), Shepherdess Elizabeth in Menotti's Amahl and the Night Visitors at Nashville Opera (Fall 2019). She recently premiered two new works by local, Nashville composers for 91Classical.
Sarah Dunnevant has a keen interest in vocal pedagogy, having recently attended the Westminster Choir College Vocal Pedagogy Institute, and enjoys teaching piano and voice students throughout the week (since August 2007). When she is not making music, she also enjoys playing video games and baking with her husband Patrick, a Vocal Arts Nashville baritone. She married
