The Frensh soprano, Catherine Dubosc, studied violoncello and music science at the Conservatoire de Strasbourg. In the year 1979 she began to study singing with Gerda Hartmann. Starting from 1980 she visited the Ecole d'Art Lyrique of l'Opéra de Paris, awhere her teachers were Denise Dupleix and Hans Hotter. She received further training from Eric Tapi at the studio d'Interpretation de l'Opéra de Lyon.
In 1985 Catherine Dubosc joined for two seasons that opera house, where she has sung many Mozart roles, including Susanna, Despina and Pamina, as well as Marzelline, Nannetta in Verdi's Falstaff, and Blanche de la Force in Francis Poulenc's Dialogues des Carmélites.. Subsequently, she appeared at the most important French stages (Opéra Comique, Théatre du Chatelet, Théatre des Champs-Elysées, Opéra de Strasbourg, Opéra de Montpellier), at the festivals of Aix-en-Provence and Vaison-la-Romaine, and abroad (Montreal, Washington, Geneva, Lausanne, Innsbruck, Edinburgh, London and others).
Catherine Dubosc's repertoire covered at the beginning masses and concerts of W. A. Mozart. Later she co-operated with interpreters of Baroque music: John Eliot Gardiner, René Jacobs, Jean-Claude Malgoire and Harry Christophers. Further she performed intensively the French opera (Massenet, Debussy, F. Poulenc, etc.).
In 1995-1996 Catherine Dubosc appeared in the role of Blanche in a new production of Dialogues des Carmélites, conducted by Michel Plasson at the Halle aux grains in Toulouse, before singing l'Enfant et les Sortilèges in Venice and Pelléas et Mélisande at the Frankfurt Opera. At the Liceu in Barcelona she appeared in May 1997 in Le Pauvre Matelot by Milhaud. In 1998-1999 she sang, among other things, in l'Enfant et les Sortilèges (the child role) in the Royal Albert Hall in London, in La Vierge by Massenet in Barcelona and in La Voix Humaine by F. Poulenc in Merignac. In May/June 1999, she performed the role of Musette in La Bohême at National Reisopera in Enschede. She also appeared in Orphée et Eurydice by Glück in Tours. In 1999-2000 season she was engaged in a series of concerts with RSO and the Klangforum of Vienna for the SWR of Friebourg, in which she sang l'Enfant et les Sortilèges in tour, and Le Rossignol by Igor Stravinsky, before appearing in a production of Orphée in Enfers with Philharmonique de Cologne.
In the area of Lieder Catherine Dubosc appeared with Louis Langrée, Ruben Lifschitz, Pascal Rogé and Jean Claude Pennetier, with whom she also sung Lieder of F. Poulenc and Robert Schumann.
