The American tenor, Rene Davila, obtained his Bachelor's degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Texas at Dallas (2018-2022). He is a Terry Foundation Scholar, and an undergraduate researcher in Dr. Victor Varner's bioengineering laboratory (June 2018-March 2020). He began pursuing vocal music in 2017, debuted with Comet Opera the following fall, and pioneered Comet Opera's volunteer and outreach work beginning with the 2019-2020 season. He made his Comet Opera debut as Ferrando in W.A. Mozart's Così Fan Tutte (November-December 2018) and performed with them also the roles of Oronte in George Frideric Handel's Alcina (April 2019), Ernesto in Gaetano Donizetti's The Marriage of Don Pasquale (August 2019), and Tito in W.A. Mozart's La clemenza di Tito (December 2019). Since Fbruary 2022, he is Applications Engineer at NI (National Instruments) in Austin, Texas (officially starting in June 2022). |
