The American soprano and voice teacher, Carolyne DalMonte, was raised in suburban Philadelphia in a family that nurtured and supported her passionate love of music from an early age. She obtained her Bachelor of Music degree in Voice from the University of Delaware (2010); and her Master of Music degree n Vocal Pedagogy & Performance from Westminster Choir College (2012). She is a student of Braeden Harris, with whom she has prepared the full roles of Mimì in La bohème, Ilia in W.A. Mozart's Idomeneo, and the title role of Manon. She also participated in Young Artist Chicago Summer Opera (2014); Opera Theatre Center Soprano Aspen Music Festival and School (2015); Studio Artist Opera NEO Music Festival (2016). Her Awards & Honors include: Phyllis Bryn-Julson Award Civic Morning Musicals Competition (2013); Finalist Opera at San Nicola Competition (2014); Semi-Finalist The American Prize: Women in Opera (2017); Semi-Finalist The American Prize: Women in Art Song and Oratorio (2018 & 2019).
Carolyne DalMonte, soprano, has been praised for her “lithe and elegant” vocalism. Newly based in San Diego, California, she is a sought after recitalist and soloist in the area. Prior to her cross-country move, she performed in the New York City area with the North Shore Music Festival on Long Island, where she covered Adina in Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore. In 2017, she covered Dorinda in George Frideric Handel's Orlando and was a featured recitalist in programs with the Cantanti Project, an exciting opera ensemble based in New York City with a focus on early opera.
In the summer of 2016, Carolyne DalMonte joined Opera NEO Music Festival, a young and innovative company dedicated to reenergizing opera. There she appeared as multiple roles in a fully staged production of Purcell’s The Fairy Queen, and performed in numerous opera and musical theatre scenes for a sold-out cabaret performance. In the summer of 2015, she was a member of the Aspen Opera Theatre Center, where she covered Despina in Aspen’s acclaimed production of W.A. Mozart's Così fan tutte and starred in several W.A. Mozart's scenes as Pamina, Papagena, and Blondchen. Other recent roles include Second Lady in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte (Westminster Choir College 2011), Giannetta in L’elisir d’amore (North Shore Music Festival, 2017), and Dorabella in W.A. Mozart's Così fan tutte.
An enthusiastic professional ensemble singer and concert soloist, Carolyne DalMonte is a member of the elite Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church Choir in Manhattan, an auxiliary soprano for the LA Master Chorale, and a soprano with the Pacific Chorale. She is a regular soloist and ensemble member with Bach Collegium San Diego, with whom she recently performed solos in King Arthur. Other recent concert solos include Johannes Brahms's Ein Deutsches Requiem (First United Methodist Church, San Diego, 2020), G.F. Handel's Messiah (First United Methodist Church, San Diego, 2018; La Jolla Symphony Chorus, 2019; Rancho Bernardo Community Church, 2020), Carmina Burana (Huntington Beach Symphony Orchestra 2019), Gabriel Fauré's Requiem (First United Methodist Church, San Diego, 2019), John Rutter's Requiem (First United Methodist Church, San Diego, 2018), and J.S. Bach's Magnificat (BWV 243) (Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church, NYC, 2017). Most recently, Miss DalMonte has been honored to join the ranks of Vocal Artists Management's Emerging Artist Roster for 2020-2021. In May 2022, she sang in Boston J.S. Bach's Cantata BWV 37 with Emmanuel Music under the direction of Ryan Turner.
In addition to singing, Carolyne DalMonte is also a proficient pianist and a dedicated private voice and piano teacher in the South Loop neighborhood of Chicago. |
