Detmolder Kammerorchester (= DKO, Detmold Chamber Orchestra) was founded in 1989. The orchestra musicians are are primarily performers and graduates of the Hochschule für Musik Detmold. Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the ensemble is Alfredo Perl, pianist and professor of piano at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold. "Refreshing and dissolved making music - great enthusiasm - particular charisma - subtlety, temperament and sensibility - agility, lightness and elegance - virtuosity" are just a few of the attributes that the press has given the DKO. In the short time of its existence, the DKO has won an important place in musical life and was thus the great tradition of the Kammerorchester Tibor Varga, from which it has emerged. The repertorire of the Detmolder Kammerorchester ranges from works of J.S. Bach to contemporary works, some were written for the DKO were dedicated to the ensemble. |
