The Hong Kong Chinese mezzo-sorano, Lora Chow, graduated magna cum laude from Yale University with double major in Economics and Music. (September 2008-May 2011). She also participted in German language and cultural exchange program of Heidelberg University.
Lora Chow has performed various roles in operas, including Isabella in G. Rossini's L'italiana in Algeri and Mrs. Grose in Benjamin Britten's The Turn of the Screw. She has sung with such renowned conductors as Helmuth Rilling, Masaaki Suzuki, Simon Carrington, Nicholas McGegan and Simon Halsey. She is currently (as of April 2015) having her vocal training under soprano Rao Lan.
After returning from her studies to Hong Kong, Lora Chow has worked as Equity Risk Trader in Morgan Stanley (June 2011-Jul 2016); Analyst at Balyasny Asset Management L.P. (July 2016-August 2019); Portfolio Manager at AllianceBernstein (October 2019-November 2021); Managing Director/Portfolio Manager at Polymer Capital (since November 2021). |
