The American baritone, Daniel Chiu, obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from SUNY New Paltz (2015-2018), and studied with Kent Smith. He obtained his Master of Music degree in Voice and Opera from The Manhattan School of Music (2018-2021), studying under Maitland Peters.
Since 2017, Daniel Chiu has performed around New York City and Long Island with Opera Night Long Island and more recently, The Opera Collective. He has also performed the roles of Giorgio Germont in La Traviata with the Manhattan School of Music, Aeneas in Dido & Aeneas, and Dr. Von Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus, in Thessaloniki, Greece under the tutelage of Kent Smith. Daniel Chiu sings in a classical style that's suitable for religious service, performance of western works, singing The Star-Spangled Banner, and more. Although he has sang since Elementary School, his vocal technique started forming under Kent Smith at SUNY New Paltz who is known for recently working for Hudson Valley Opera's Best Opera of the Year The Mother of Us All. |
