The American mezzo-soprano/soprano singer and data analyst, Maria Ann Chenevey, obtained her Bachelor of Arta degree in Music Performance from SUNY Oneonta.
Maria Ann Chenevey is very well versed in the operatic repertoiure, having sung roles from Cherubino in W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, to the Secretary in Menotti's The Consul; and has performed with several opera companies, including Des Moines Metro Opera, Amatoi Opera, among many others. In chamber music, she has performed for many years with Goliard Concerts, a chamber music organization based in Astoria, Queens (1985-2006). She performed extensively with the Goliard Chorale - as soloist and in the chorus. She made Lincoln Center Debut at Alice Tully Hall as mezzo-soprano soloist in W.A. Mozart's Waisenhaus Messe with full orchestra under the direction of Patricia Handy. She premiered new work of Ruth Schonthal Trumpeten Gesange for voice, string quarter, trumpet, and snare drum. Performed extensively in four Southeastern tours beginning in 1990. She has been presented as a chamber music principle artist in concert with string quartet and piano performing Johannes Brahms' Zwei Gesange and Chausson's Chanson Perpetuelle at Merkin Concert Hall. She has also been soprano singer for 30 plus years (since 1988) singing with the professional choir at Temple Bethel in Great Neck, New York. Still performing several times per year - including all of the High Holy Days each year. She has also performed with Musica Bella Orchestra of New York (2005). On radio, she has been heard on radio stations WQXR and WNYC.
