The American soprano and voice teacher, Erin Chenard (Niland), trained in classical singing. She obtained here Bachelor of Music degree in Music Performance from the University of Southern Maine School of Music (2001-2005); and her Master of Music degree in Voice Pedagogy and Performance from Westminster Choir College (2005-2007).
Since June 2000, Erin Chenard is an active soloist, regularly performing throughout Southern and Midcoast Maine, and has been a member of the St Mary Schola (Director: Bruce Fithian) since its founding in 2008. She has sung with the Maine Pro Musica Orchestra, Downeast Singers, Calderwood Consort, Bostonians Opera Company, and as a member of the Westminster Symphonic Choir was heard in the New York Philharmonic Orchestra's 2006 broadcast of George Frideric Handel’s Messiah.
Erin Chenard is a newly minted member of NATS, the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and currently serves as private voice instructor at the Bay Chamber Community Music School in Rockport (since March 2012) and the Portland Conservatory of Music. |
