The American soprano and composer, Christine Elise Chen, studied Music Theory, German Literature at Freie Universität Berlin (2012-2013). She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Theory and Composition from Wellesley College in Massachusetts (2010-2014); and her Master of Music degree in Composition from Manhattan School of Music in New York (2016-2018).
During her studies at Wellesley College, Christine Elise Chen was Music Director of Wellesley Widows A Cappella Group (January 2011-January 2012). She worked as Assistant Music Teacher and Accompanist at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Princeton Junction, New Jersey (2007-2013). She sang professionally in the Medieval and Renaissance music group Canto Armonico in Bostn as both a choir member and a soloist (Januarty 2012-March 2015); and was soprano soloist under director Bálint Karosi at St Peter's Church in Midtown Manhattan (September 2016-April 2019; from August 2018 also Soprano Section Leader). Since October 2018, she works as Performance Promotion and Marketing Coordinator at Carl Fischer Music Publishing/Theodore Presser Company in New York City. |
