The Italian mezzo-soprano, Bianca-Maria Casoni, studied at the Milan Conservatory with Bruna Jona and Mercedes Llopart.
Bianca-Maria Casoni made her debut in Milan in 1956, as Mercedes in Carmen. She sang widely in Italy after winning La Scala Competition. She appeared at the Salzburg Festival in 1960 as Giacinta in La Finta Semplice, and at the Glyndebourne Festival in 1965 as Cherubino. She gave concert performance of Bellini's La Straniera. She appeared in New York in 1969, at Covent Garden and at the Festivals of Aix and Edinburgh, in Monte Carlo, Geneva, Barcelona, Philadelphia and at the Metropolitan Opera. In 1975 she participated in Turin in the Italian premiere of Die drei Pintos by Mahler/Weber. She appeared at the Berlin Staatsoper in 1981 as Cinderella.
