The Swedish counter-tenor, George Carling, started singing in Gothenburg’s Boy’s Choir at the age of 7, and has since sung in many different ensembles and choirs, with a wide variety of repertoire, ranging from the Swedish male choir tradition to one per part renaissance polyphony and the great Baroque oratorios of George Frideric Handel and J.S. Bach. He obtained his Bachelor of Music degree in Early Music: Voice from Koninklijk Conservatorium (Royal Conservatoire) in The Hague (August 2015-January 2017), where he studied with Rita Dams and Carolien Drewes. In 2017, he began studies for Master of Laws - LLM at Lund University (expected graduation: 2022).
Both an avid soloist and ensemble singer, George Carling's main focus and interest lies in the performance of early music, be it English lute song, Italian madrigals or the great Baroque oratorios. He currently lives in Lund Sweden. |
