The Belgian soprano, Marie Nöelle de Callataÿ, began her singing studies at the age of 15 with Greta De Reyghere. After 3 years, she entered the Conservatoire de Musique de Bruxelles in the class of Jules Bastin, where she obtained the first prize in concert singing and lyric art and the diploma superior of opera singing with the greatest distinction. She obtained a purse of the Fondation Belge de la Vocation, which allowed her to take courses in London with Vera Rozsa.
Marie Nöelle de Callataÿ took part in productions of the operas Dido and Aeneas by Purcell (Dido and Belinda), Don Giovanni (Zerlina) and Le nozze di Figaro by W.A. Mozart (Suzanna). She has given many recitals of Lieder and chamber music and has taken part in oratorios in Belgium and abroad (Netherlands, Italy, UK). In December 1989 she made a tour in the USSR with Sylvia Traey. She recorded a CD of Peter Philips with l'ensemble Currende.
Marie Nöelle de Callataÿ is prize-winner finalist of the International Competitions of Singing of ‘s Hertogenbosch in 1987 and Queen Elizabeth in 1988. |
