The Choeur Regional d'Auvergne (= CRA) was created in 2000 to contribute to the development of choir practice. This body of amateur singers helps stimulate more research on voice quality, openness to little-known works and the pleasure of sharing music. It is a place for artistic requirement and training for singers and choir leaders of the region and contributes to the development of cultural territory. The choir has an intense activity of concerts in the four departments of the region and regular opportunities to occur beyond the borders of the Auvergne.
Since its inception, the choir is led by Blaise Plumettaz, artistic head of the Mission Voix within the agency The Transfo - Art and Culture in Region Auvergne.
The Choeur Regional d'Auvergne has participated in concerts of La Grande Écurie et la Chambre du Roy (conductor Jean-Claude Malgoire), the Orchestre d’Auvergne (conductor Arie van Beek), the Ensemble Ars Nova (conductor Philippe Nahon), A Sei Voci (conductor Bernard Fabre Garrus), Les Folies Françoises (conductor Patrick Cohën-Akenine) and the Orchestre Lyrique de Région Avignon Provence (conductor Cyril Diederich). The choir sang in many festivals such as the Chaise-Dieu, the Musicales du Lubéron, the Temps Musicaux de Ramatuelle, Bach en Combrailles, Piano à Riom, Musiques Démesurées, Cour du soir de Cusset, the Rencontres Musicales de Manglieu, the Nuits Musicales en Bourbonnais, La Maison Musicale à St Julien de Brioude, the Soirées de Chazeron, and and regularly as part of the season Centre Lyrique d'Auvergne.
Some of these concerts were recorded and broadcasted on France Musique (emission Prima la musica Anne-Charlotte Raymond) and France Bleue Pays d’Auvergne (emission Pizzicato Isabelle Raché).
The choir takes part in the enlargement and training, especially by proposing discussed rehearsals, concerts and shared partnerships with the schools. |
