The French soprano, Aurore Bucher, began to study piano at the age of 7 at the Conservatoire de Strasbourg. After a Master of Philosophy in Paris X-Nanterre, she entered the class of singing of Marie-Calrie Cottin. She graduated in 2001 with a first prize. She entered the Maitrise of Notre Dame in Paris where she studied the repertoire ranging from Gregorian chant to contemporary music, sacred or secular under the direction of leaders such as Nicole Corti, Denis Rouger, Sylvain Dieudonné, John Nelson, and took part of the master-classes with Alain Buet, Peter Harvey, Hans Peter Blochwitz, Martin Isepp and Margreet Honig. She graduated in June 2003 with the mention Very Good. Besides, she studied French Mélodie with Francoise Pollet and François Le Roux at the Academy of Saint-Maurice Ravel where she won the Prix Gerard Souzay in September 2004 and the Prix Pierre Bernac in 2006.
Aurore Bucher now sings the Baroque repertoire regularly under the direction of Martin Gester, Gabriel Garrido, Jean-Claude Malgoire, Françoise Lasserre and Il Seminario Musicale with Gérard Lesne. She made her debut on stage in September 2003 with the role of Josabeth in George Frideric Handel's Athalia, under the direction of Paul McCreesh. Then she sang Eugenio in Johann Adolf Hasse's oratorio I Pellegrini al Sepolcro di Nostro Signore with Il Seminario Musicale at the Festival de la Chaise-Dieu, and Messagiera in Monteverdi's Orfeo with La Fenice under the direction of Jean Tubéry at the Grand Théâtre de Rennes, the Teatro Arriaga in Bilbao and in Helsinki. Mira Godleanu and Frédérick Haas invited accompanied her for a a recital devoted to the great heroines of Lully and Rameau in Zagreb and Brezice.
