The Austrian baritone, Christian Büchel, passed in 1987 the Matura (Abitur) at the Musikgymnasium Feldkirch. From 1987 to 1992 he studied at the Musikhochschule Mozarteum Salzburg, Abt.X in Innsbruck (high-school music teacher and state teacher in singing and contrabass), and at the University of Innsbruck (Philosophy / Psychology / Education). From 1992 to 1997 he studied solo singing at the Musikhochschule in Munich (3 Degrees: certified singing teacher and state certified opera and concert singer). Solo singing studies at P. Petrov, master-class with Professor KS Jan-Hendrik Rootering, oratorio class with Professor Hanns-Martin Schneidt, four years a member of the Lied class of Professor H. Deutsch. Training with D. Schneider (functional singing training), I. Konsulov and Ingo Anders.
In 994-1995 Christian Büchel appeared with Sir Colin Davis in concert performances of W.A, Mozart's Zauberflöte and Marriage of Figaro at the Munich's Prinzregenten Theater. In 1996 he received Scholarship of the Deutschen Bühnenvereins. Numerous concerts and opera productions: engagements with the Bayerische Staatsoper, the Städtischen Bühnen Augsburg and the Freien Landestheater Bayern. Premiere of Zehntageoper - Jiddisches Glik at the the Jugendfestival Bayreuth (CD and video documentation). In 1997, premiere of W. Hiller's Peter Pan, directed by the State Director A. Everding: documented as a TV broadcast of the Bayerischen Rundfunks and a CD produced by the Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft
In 1998 Christian Büchel was Artistic Director and Director for the musical production "The Wizard of Oz" with over 80 participants; choirmaster activity; main role in the musical Hair, participation in the premiere of the opera Fundevogel by G. Amann and M. Köhlmaier. He also directed the Three Penny Opera by Brecht / Weill at the Musikgymnasium Feldkirch. In 1998-1999 he was lecturer in BORG Musikgymnasium Feldkirch and as gave a solo and in choir singing course at the Conservatory of Feldkirch. From 2000 to 2006 he was singing teacher at the Musikschule Werdenberg. Since 2000, he he teacher of chool music, choir-master and singing at the Kantonsschule am Burggraben St.Gallen. In 2006 he was appointed principal teacher.
Christian Büchel's preferences Priorities in his Lieder repertoire, in addition to the classics, F. Schubert, Schumann and Wolf, are in particular H.F. Martin's Jedermann-Monologe, the Don Quichotte songs by M. Ravel and J Ibert, as well as 5 Nachtgesänge by F. Andergassen.
In 1999 Christian Büchel made his debut at the Operettenbühne Vaduz as Graf Homonay in Zigeunerbaron, in 2001 as Lovel in Vizeadmiral and in 2003 as a Falke in Fledermaus. He sang Den Angelotti in Puccini's Tosca at the Schlossfestspiele Werdenberg. In 2004 he made his debut in the Festspielhaus Bregenz as Bonzo in Puccini's Butterfly. Liechtenstein Musical Company (LMC) and Liechtensteins Volksblatt gave Christian Büchel the official title of Liechtenstein Musical-Star 2004. He sang: A bissl fürs Hirn from the musical Mozart, songs of Peron from Evita Peron, and a monologue from Der Kontrabass by Patrick Süskind. He sang Peron in the musical Evita in Einsiedeln. In 2004 he appeared at the Bregenzer Festspiele: soloist in the operetta Der Kuhhandel by Kurt Weill (conductor: Christof Eberle, Artistic Director: David Pountney). In 2005 he appeared at the Bregenzer Festspiele: Spinzi in the operetta Der lustige Krieg by Johann Strauss (conductor: Dietfried Bernet, director: Michael Sturminger). In 2006 he sang the title role in the musical Dracula by Karel Svoboda at Balzers Liechtensteinische Musical Company. In 2007 he sang in Bayreuth (Germany) Graf Homonay in
J. Strauss' Zigeunerbaron; bass solo part in the oratorio Le Laudi by Herman Suter, 150J federal singer in Buch's great gala concert, a gala in Gargellen. In 2008 Mr Fluth in O. Nicolai's Lustige Weiber in Beinwil am See (CH); bass solo part of Raphael in the oratorio Die Schöpfung in Wil (conductor: Kurt Koller). In 2009 Popolani in J. Offenbach's Barbe Bleue in Zürich (Kevin Griffith, Paul Sutter). |
