The American tenor, Nathan Brown, graduated Summa Cum Laude from Murray State University in December 2017 with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Music Education. In the Fall of 2020, he started working as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Iowa while earning his Master of Arts degree in Vocal Performance. He previously taught two years at Belleville West High School in Illinois as a part-time choral director.
Nathan Brown is an emerging young tenor that takes pride in his versatility as both a musician and artist. A resident of the St. Louis metro area, he was a full-time member of the St. Louis Chamber Chorus and the No-Name Chorale, the latter of which was a featured ensemble at multiple ACDA conventions in the Midwest.
As a solo performer, Nathan Brown has had many roles in operas, plays, and musicals at Murray State University and competed regularly while still dedicating time to his pursuits as an educator. He has also garnered an extra level of performance experience by twice attending the Bay View SOARS Program in Bay View, Michigan, studying several roles during the two-week intensive. He has also been a featured tenor soloist for George Frideric Handel's Messiah as well as J.S. Bach's Cantata BWV 4, and performed with Union Avenue Opera in St. Louis during the 25th Season.
In addition to his singing career, Nathan Brown is an award-winning a Cappella arranger and has composed many original pieces and song cycles for voice and piano. |
