The former English boy soprano, Andrew Brough, attended the Coten End Primary School in Warwick. He joined the Choir of St. Mary's Church in October 1963 when he was 7 years old after the choir-master visited the school to recruit boys. Andrew attended Kenilworth Grammar School and was keen on all kinds of sports. He became head chorister in January 1970 an has shown a noticeable capacity for leadership.
Andrew Brough has continued to sing in the Choir at St Mary's for over 40 years service. For many years he sang alto, mainly because the choir always seemed to be short of alto's, but in the late 1990’s he moved to bass where he felt he was able to make a much more telling contribution. He still occasionally moves back to alto to cover for absence etc. He has twin daughters, both of whom were choristers in the Girls' choir at St Mary's. His wife, Claire, is Secretary of the Friends of the Girls Choir and does much to assist in fund raising to support tours abroad etc. The still live in Warwick and he is a Project Manager for a Software company in Birmingham. |
