The American mezzo-soprano, Megan (Meg) Brilleslyper, studies for he Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance in the studio of Katherine Ciesinski and Arts Leadership Certificate at Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester (since 2019; expected graduation: 2023). She is an Arts Leadership Certificate Candidate, the Students’ Association President, and Secretary for the Sigma Theta Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota at Eastman. In summer 2022, she studied at the Aspen Music Festival as a Studio Artist. She is the 2022 Eastman Concerto Competition winner.
Megan Brilleslyper's recent roles include Granny and Witch Cover in Into the Woods, and Pane in La Calisto with the Eastman Opera Theater, and Nancy in Benjamin Britten's Albert Herring at the Miami Beach Music Festival. In November 2022, she performed at Eastman Rossini’s short song cycle La Regata Veneziana, with Eastman School Symphony Orchestra conducted by Neil Varon in Kodak Hall. In February 2023, she sang the role of Ruggiero in George Frideric Handel’s Alcina with the Eastman Opera Theatre. She currently lives in Rochester, New York. When she is not singing, she loves hiking, running, boxing, and cooking. |
