The Swiss soprano, Larissa Bretscher, studied with Professor Jane Thorner-Mengedoth at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste, followed by master-classes with Margreet Honig, Klesie Kelly, Jill Feldmann and Sarah Maria Sun. In 2015 she graduated with honors from the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste. She received further impulses from Barbara Böhi, Roswitha Müller and Raymond Connell.
Larissa Bretscher sings chamber music concerts, church concerts and Lieder recitals, among others, an the LAC in Lugano or at the Tonhalle Zurich. As part of the Zürcher Festspiele, she sang in "Heinrich Treibhäuser", in the Music Musik Theater Arosa in the opera Der Geizhals by Mayr. As an interpreter of contemporary works, she works e.g. with the composers Toshio Hosokawa, Carola Bauckholt, the conductor Jonathan Stockhammer.
Larissa Bretscher combines her experience in a wide variety of music genres in interdisciplinary projects and searches for new mixed forms. With the pianist Lena Schmidt, she performs as a duo carouge on numerous cabarets, where she combines classical songs with chansons. With her pop band Marylane, she publishes two self-written albums under the labels Sophie Records and TOURBO Music. She is a member of various ensembles, including in the Davos Festival Kammerchor, Novello Ensemble, and Chor der J.S. Bach-Stiftung St. Gallen (Director: Rudolf Lutz; since 2019).
Larissa Bretscher teaches singing in her music studio in Zürich. In 2018 she won the prize (3rd place) od the Stiftung Elvirissima at the Landesweiten Wettbewerb für Junge Stimmen. |
