The German soprano, Jutta Maria Böhnert, studied from 1993 to 1998 singing at the Stuttgart Academy of Music, where her principal teacher was Sylvia Geszty.
Jutta Böhnert’s first professional engagement was with Stuttgart State Opera in 1997 and was soon followed by other engagements with Nuremberg Opera and the Kassel State Theatre. Since then she has made guest appearances in Munich, Hanover, Düsseldorf, Salzburg and Berlin. In 2004 and 2005 she was heard as Gilda in Rigoletto and as Belinda in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas. She made her début with the Potsdam Winter Opera as Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte. Her wonderfully clear and bright soprano was particularly admired at Cleofide in Poro at the Göttingen Handel Festival. She was first heard at the Bayreuth Festival as one of Klingsor's Flowermaidens in 2004, a role that she has sung every year since then.
As a concert singer, Jutta Böhnert has appeared with the Dresdner Kreuzchor, the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig and - at the Halle Handel Festival - with the Cologne Philharmonic. More recently her abilities as a concert singer have been showcased by her appearances with the RIAS-Kammerchor, Berliner Symphoniker, Stuttgart Bach Academy and Iceland Symphony Orchestra. Among her CD’s are Frank Martin's Le vin herbé and a new recording of W.A. Mozart's Requiem with the Thomanerchor Leipzig. |
