Lily Bogas (Mezzo-soprano)

Born: December 18, 2001 - San Francisco, California, USA

The American mezzo-soprano, Lily Nichole Bogas, has been working as a singer, actress and dancer in the Bay Area for a couple years at venues such as Marin Theatre Company, where she opened the West Coast Premiere of The Wolves by Sarah Delappe as an understudy for the role #13. Her recent achievements include singing in her first opera as Dido in Dido and Aeneas at Sonoma State University, portraying Cinderella in Into The Woods at 142 Throckmorton Theatre, and training at American Conservatory Theater in their signature Cabaret Ensemble. She was a national finalist in the Classical Singer' Vocal Competition for the musical theatre division (2018), and in the fall of 2018, she made her one woman cabaret debut. She won the title of the California State Champion in the Poetry Out Loud: National Recitation Contest (March 2019); was selected as one of 40 national finalists for The Great American Songbook Academy competition, performing jazz standards alongside Michael Feinstein (June 2019); and was 3rd place winner in the Schmidt Vocal Competition (May 2020).

Lily Bogas currently studies for her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance at the Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester (since 2020; expected graduation: 2024; Voice teachers: Amy Johnson/Robert Swensen). At Eastman, she was Taller Daughter in Missy Mazzoli’s Proving Up, (Eastman Opera Theatre, November 2021); a member of Eastman Chorale (Director: William Weinert) and Eastman Repertory Singers; a soloist in Eastman School of Music: Bach Cantata Series (BWV 44, February 2021; BWV 7, February 2022); sang in the ensemble of George Frideric Handel's Alcina (Eastman Opera Theatre, January-February 2023). She made her mainstage debut with Festival Opera as Clotilde in Norma (July 2022). She won 2nd place at the Hal Leonard Vocal Competition: College/University Voices, Art Song - Undergraduates (February 2023).
