The Canadian soprano, Paula Berry, obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of British Columbia (2011-2015); her Master of Music degree in Voice and Opera from McGill University, where she studied with Joanne Kolomyjec (2015- 2017); and her Post Baccalaureate in Voice and Opera from University of Manitoba (2018-2020). She has been a participant at Opera Nuova, the Vancouver International Song Institute, the International Sommerakademie Mozarteum, Broadway Artists Alliance, and the European Music Academy. She is the winner of an Encouragement Award at the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, in the Western Canada district. She was also the winner of the J. Strauss Foundation Scholarship, which sent her to Austria to study at the Mozarteum with renowned soprano Anna Tomowa-Sintow.
Paula Berry's roles have include Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, the title role in George Frideric Handel's Alcina, Adina in l'Elisir d'Amore (Opera McGill), Sister Rose in Dead Man Walking, Dortchen Wild in The Brothers Grimm, Soeur Catherine in Francis Poulenc's Les Dialogues des Carmelites, and Lapak/Datel in The Cunning Little Vixen. Equally comfortable on the musical theatre stage, her favourite roles include Christine Colgate in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Beth March in Little Women the Musical, Sheila in A Chorus Line, and Star-to-be in Annie.
Aside from her work on stage, Paula Berry made a very brief foray into the world of television, voicing the (one line) role of Cherry Crash in the series My Little Pony.
