The English mezzo-soprano, Alice Ruxandra Bell, was born in London and raised in France. She has participated in numerous musical courses and projects, taking up the cello at a young age and then through singing later on. She obtained Translation degree from Universite de Rennes (2011-2014). While in France she was a part of the Opera Junior chorus in Der Jasager at the Opéra de Montpellier, and also performed the role of Doris in Les Festes de L’Eté at the Opéra de Rennes (2014). She obtained both her Bachelor of Music degree with Honours in Vocal Studies Grade2:1 from (2014-2018) and her Master's of Music degree with Honours in Vocal Performance (2018-2020) from the Royal College of Music in London, where she studied with Janis Kelly. She also attended master-classes with Dennis O'neill (2018) and Dame Ann Murray (2019).
At the RCM Alice Ruxandra Bell performed roles such as Eduige from George Frideric Handel’s Rodelinda in Opera Scenes (2017), Second Lady from W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte (2018), Olga in Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin (2020); and covered Hippolyta in Benjamin Britten's A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2018). In oratorio/concert she gave recital with Orchestra at Festival de musique de Villars (2017); was soloist in Hector Berlioz's Les Nuits d'Ete with Orchestre de Chambre de Canet (2018) and W.A. Mozart's Requiem with Orchestre Symphonique de Canet (2018); and sang in the choir of J.S. Bach's Cantatas with RCM Baroque Orchestra under Ashley Solomon (2020). |
