The German soprano, Nohad Becker, was is the daughter of a Lebanese-German couple. She studied singing with Andreas Reibenspies in Trossingen and with Hedwig Fassbender in Frankfurt/Main. Particpation in master-classes with Renate Ackermann, Kammersängerin Hilde Zadek, Andreas Homoki, Kammersänger Kurt Moll, Ingeborg Danz, Kai Wessel and Eva Marton completed her vocal training. She won the Iris-Marquardt Award, was winner of the Lenzewski-Wettbewerb Frankfurt and was finalist in various other singing competitions, including Munich and Kaiserslautern
Nohad Becker had engagements at the Prinzregententheater München, Staatstheater Kassel, Theater Rüsselsheim and Bockenheimer Depot Frankfurt/Main. In the spring of 2014, she will be heard in the role of Bradamante in George Frideric Handels Alcina at the Opernhaus Wuppertal.
Her interest in repertoire and performance practices encompasses all periods and she works in the fields from the Renaissance to modern; so Nohad Becker had appeared at the Donaueschinger Neue-Musik-Tagen, the Neue-Musik-Festival "Utopie jetzt" in Mülheim and the Barocknächten in Frankfurt, Mannheim and Weilburg, and recently sang in the production of Mond.Finsternis.Asphalt in a world premiere conducted by Beat Furrer at Bockenheimer Depot Frankfurt.
Nohad Becker works regularly inter alia with conductors such as Ralf Otto, Kay Johannsen, Wolfgang Schäfer, Michael Schneider and Winfried Toll and has performed so far with renowned orchestras such as the HR-Sinfonieorchester, SWR Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart, Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern, and Bayerischer Rundfunk Symphonieorchester, as well as La Stagione Frankfurt, Barockorchester L’arpa festante, Münchener Kammerorchester and Bachorchester Mainz. |
