The French baritone, Cédric Baillergeau, began his music studies by learning the clarinet and percussion at Ecole Des Arts in Challans (1992-1997), and clarinet at Conservatoire National De Région in Nantes (1996-2001). He discovered singing in the Maîtrise de la Perverie à Nantes (1996-2001), where he made his first experiences as a chorister and soloist. He studied singing at the Conservatoire de Région d'Angers (2001-2006) and musicology at the Université Catholique de l'Ouest (DEUG, 2002-2004). He participated in many professional vocal ensembles: Mikrokosmos, Ecole Maîtrisienne Régionale des Pays de la Loire, Ensemble Vocal de Nantes, Camerata Vocale de Brive, Egregor vocal, and Ensemble Vocal Candor Vocalis. He intervenes in these ensembles as a chorister or soloist depending on the productions.
Since January 2012, Cédric Baillergeau sings in the Chœur de Chambre Mélisme(s) (Director: Gildas Pungier) and in the choirs of the Opéra de Rennes (since May 2012) and the Opéra National du Rhin (since 2019). In 2014, he joined Les Cris de Paris, Les Métaboles, Le Palais Royal and Ensemble Exosphère à Strasbourg. In 2020, he created Climax, a quartet of close harmony and vocal jazz. He has been a founding member of La Sportelle (with Laetitia Corcelle, soprano; Anne Bertin-Hugault, mezzo-soprano; Steve Zengh, tenor) since 2017, bringing his generous vocals, his very open musicality and his invigorating fantasy to each production. He currently lives in Rennes, France. |
