The French bass, Florent Baffi, had studied the cello, before he began his singing studies at the Conservatoire de Tours. In 2004, he enrolled at the Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles and in 2007, the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP), where he graduated in 2012 with a comprehensive training that familiarizes with varied repertoires, from Baroque to contemporary through opera and operetta. Attracted by the stage, he appeared during his studies in many shows:: Papageno in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte at the CNSMDP, Lui in Messager's L'Amour Masqué at the Auditorium du Musée d'Orsay, Claude in Hahn's O mon bel inconnu at the Opéra Comique, etc ...
Florent Baffi has collaborated with ensembles from various profiles, both in terms of formation and repertoire: Le Concert d'Astrée (Director: Emmanuelle Haïm), Sagittarius (Director: Michel Laplénie), Les Meslanges, La chambre aux Echos, Ausonia, Aedes, Cris de Paris
Attached to contemporary works, Florent Baffi has devoted himself regularly, especially with the Ensemble Musicatreize, the Ensemble Sequenza 9-3 or Théâtre et Musique. But it is above all the Ensemble Le Balcon with which he performs new music. Thus, in 2014, he was the Évêque in Le Balcon by Peter Eötvös at the Théâtre de l'Athénée, reprsd at the Opéra de Lille. In 2015, he was on the stage of the Athénée for La Métamorphose by Michael Levinas and quAvenida de Los Incas 3518, an opera by Argentinean composer Fernando Fiszbein.
In 2016, his major projects include: singing in Monsieur Choufleuri by Jacques Offenbach at Festival Clavicorde and participatIon in La Traviata, directed by Benjamin Lazar at the Bouffes du Nord. |
