The American baritone, Jason Awbrey, studied Music at University of Texas at Arlington (1991-1995).

His lyric voice has garnered critical acclaim for his performances of literature ranging from the early Renaissance period through the 21st century. In a recent recital of German lieder with Voces Intimae, Scott Cantrell of The Dallas Morning News wrote “everything sounded so easy, so natural” and “[it] was sheer magic.” He is also a Grammy-nominated choral artist and soloist, and has performed regularly with professional ensembles throughout the USA, Mexico, and Europe, including the Grammy award-winning ensembles Conspirare and Roomful of Teeth, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, San Antonio Symphony, Northeast Symphony, Rapides Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Bach Society, Texas Camerata, Ars Lyrica Houston, The Orchestra of New Spain, Santa Fe Desert Chorale, Orpheus Chamber Singers, Vox Humana, Crescendo, Harmonia Stellarum, Tactus, Oklahoma Bach Choir & Orchestra, and Verdigris Ensemble.
He has recorded with numerous ensembles, including Conspirare, Orpheus Chamber Singers, Verdigris Ensemble, and Vox Humana, and appears on Conspirare’s Grammy-nominated album, "The Poet Sings: Pablo Neruda". Recent and upcoming highlights include performances of J.S. Bach's Cantatas BWV 4 & BWV 140 with Crescendo Bach Choir, J.S.
