The American tenor, Samuel Ary, began studying piano at age 9 as a student of Chris Bredehoft, who is a University of North (UNT) alum. He obtained his Certificate of Completion in Music from University of Oxford (2019-2019); and his Bachelor of Music degree Summa Cum Laude from the University of North Texas (August 2018-May 2022), where he studied Vocal Performance with Professor William Joyner. His former teachers include Dr. David Robinson and Dr. Jeffrey Snider. In addition to private voice, he has studied choral singing and sacred music under the direction of Dr. Allen Hightower.
With a light and agile voice, sensitivity to musicality, and impeccable work ethic, Samuel Ary is a highly sought-after Tenor in the DFW metroplex. He combines an active performance schedule throughout North Texas with his position as Staff Singer at Church of the Incarnation in Dallas (August 2020-August 2022), where he serves in ministry through music at one of the country’s largest Episcopal parishes. He also was Tenor Section Leader at Prosper United Methodist Church (October 2018-June 2019); Tenor Section Leader at St Andrew Presbyterian Church (August 2019-July 2020). In addition to his work at Incarnation, he is a member of Orpheus Chamber Singers and two ensembles at the University of North Texas: A Cappella Choir and Vox Aquilae, as well as Dallas Chamber Choir, Orchestra of New Spain, Verdigris Ensemble. He is also Lay Clerk and Co-director at Notre Dame Children's Choir - NDCC and Tenor at Basilica of the Sacred Heart at the University of Notre Dame (since August 2022).
Performances in the 2021-2022 season include appearances as a member of professional ensembles including Incarnatus, Verdigris, Dallas Chamber Choir, and the Highland Park Chorale. Other recent performances include the 2022 SWACDA Convention, 2021 National ACDA Convention, the University of Oxford Choral Summer School (2019). He has been featured as a soloist with the A Cappella choir and Vox Aquilae at UNT. In addition to an active interest in singing, He is a classically trained pianist and has been featured on solo piano recitals (2010-2017).
When he is not practicing or performing music, Samuel Ary enjoys spending his time outdoors with friends and family. Some of his favorite activities include hiking, fishing, cooking, and landscaping. He currently lives in South Bend, Indiana. |
