The Israeli mezzo-soprano, Nitzan Alon, studied for her Bachelor of Music degree in Voice at he Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance (JAMD) (2008-2012), where her teachers were Ms. Marina Levitt and Mr. Zvi Semel; and at the Mendelssohn Hochschule in Leipzig, Germany (2012-2013), where her voice teacher was Professor Jeanette Favaro-Reuter. She was the winner of the “Chabas” scholarship for young promising singers (2004-2005), and the 3rd Prize winner in the Charles Schneider Lieder competition for the years 2010-2011.
Nitzan Alon Sings as a soloist with different orchestras in Israel and abroad, under the baton of maestros such as Frederic Chaslin, Daniel Cohen, James Judd, Stanley Sperber and others.
Nitzan Alon sang the role of "the Rose" in the opera premiere of Sarah Nemtsov's L'absence, in the Munich Biennale 2012. She sang the role of Cornelia in George Frideric Handel's Giulio Cesare (2017), and the role of the witch in H. Purcell's Dido and Aeneas (2018), both with the Israeli Opera. She has been a member of the "Meitar" opera studio of the Israeli opera in Tel-Aviv between the years 2013-2015, where her repertoire included The Third Lady in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte; Prince Orlofsky in Strauss' Die Fledermaus; Marcellina in W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro; The Witch in Engelbert Humperdinck's Hänsel und Gretel and more.
Today, Nitzan Alon is singing with Israel's best orchestras, performing different repertoires, including W.A. Mozart's Requiem, Verdi's Requiem, A 20th century passion by Peter Gary, a holocaust survivor, Felix Mendelssohn's Elijah and more. In this season (2022-2023), she will be performing in many concerts, including several premieres of recently composed music. She currently lives in Harish, Israel. |
