The Korean baritone, Daehyun Ahn (안대현), graduated from Kaywon Highschool of Arts (1997-2000), and began studying singing at the College of Music: Department of Vocal Music at Yonsei University in Seoul (2000-2008). In 2008 he switched to Jürgen Hartfiel at the
Hochschule für Musik "Carl Maria von Weber" in Dresden, where he graduated with a diploma (2008-2010). He then studied opera at the
Staatlichen Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart with Bernhard Jaeger-Böhm (2011-2014), and passed the there the Singing Concert-exam (2013-2015). He is a prize-winner at the 5th
Internationalen Lions Gesangswettbewerb Gut Immling (2012/2013).
While still a student, Daehyun Ahn made guest appearances at the Korean Broadcasting System Hall in Seoul as Figaro in
W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro and as Silvano in Un ballo in maschera and Marullo in Rigoletto at the Seoul State Opera. In 2012 he made his debut as Don Giovanni at the Wilhelma Theater in Stuttgart. His repertoire includes roles such as Silvio in Pagliacci, Guglielmo in
W.A. Mozart's Così fan tutte, Schaunard in La Bohème, Ford in Falstaff, Papageno in
W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte and Wolfram in Tannhäuser. At the
Staatsoper Stuttgart, he could be seen as Perückenmacher (wig maker) in Ariadne auf Naxos. He currently lives in Stuttgart, Germany. |
